There is nothing wrong with wanting to numb what hurts. We all have our own ways of dealing with pain, trauma, and uncomfortable emotions. Some of us will distract ourselves with tv, social media or social events. Others will lean towards substances like alcohol or drugs. There is no shame in any of it because why would you want to feel pain and hurt?
